Ju-Jitsu hits Imperial

A new martial arts club has opened at IC, the art of Ju-Jitsu has never previously been taught on campus.

Barry Harte is a 1st Dan Black Belt instructor in Goshin Ryu Kempo Ju-Jitsu and also has many years experience in other related martial arts.

Goshin Ryu is an extremely practical style that incorporates strikes and blocks, joint manipulation and locking techniques, throws, pressure points, ground control and restraints. Also covered in the syllabus is first aid and the study of human anatomy.

Ju-Jitsu is ideal for men and women who wish to learn to defend themselves with street effective techniques, the system has no sporting applications whatsoever.

The club is affiliated to Mill Hill Ju-Jitsu Club, under the guidance of senior instructors Alan Arnold and Darryl Jones, both clubs are part of Kenseikai Budo Association.

Students and staff are welcome to attend classes if they wish to train on a regular basis.
