Imperial and World Economic Forum to collaborate in AI innovation centre

This Week in Science

While this week sees AI news focused on the governmental adaptation to the technology’s dangers in our society, Imperial, together with the World Economic Forum, has announced its efforts toward improving responsible, productive AI use via the inauguration of the first world economic forum global centre to be based in Britain: the UK centre for AI driven innovation.

Focusing on using research to inform data-driven decision on AI policy, the center, hosted at Imperial, will act as a connecting hub between the UK Department for Science, Innovation and Technology and industrial partners. It aims to unlock new innovation avenues in both business and manufacturing services and life sciences, even including the use of AI in creative industries.
