Imperial College beat the University of Warwick 190-105 in the first round of this year’s University Challenge quarterfinals.

Imperial’s team now has to compete in the second heat of the quarterfinals. Should they win their second game, they will be granted a place to compete in the semifinals.

Warwick took a quick lead answering a question on the graphic novel V for Vendetta, ultimately leading the first round 40-25. However, Imperial managed to gain the lead by the picture round with 70 points to Warwick’s 55, a lead they narrowly maintained until the final three minutes of the bout.

Host Amol Rajan described the team’s performance as having “sort of ran away with it at the end, and made it look kind of easy.”
