Pimlico Connection

The Pimlico Connection is looking for volunteers interested in its lastest scheme. As you hopefully know, the Pimlico Connection has been sending students to local primary and secondary schools for over twenty years. Every Wednesday afternoon, they go into the classroom and help pupils with maths and science subjects in a tutoring role which benefits them far more than just having a teacher talking at them.

This year we have tried to expand the scheme into the area of after-school homework clubs. These are "drop-in" centres which school kids can visit if they need help with any work they are stuck on or if they just need a quiet place to study. The homework clubs are run by voluntary organisations who are desperate for us to provide them with "educated" people to help with the questions the kids ask.

This is where we, or rather you, come in. If you fancy a rewarding challenge for a couple of hours each week this might be just the thing for you. We need volunteers who will be able to commit themselves to two hours every week for this term and possibly next term.

White Nights

Fyodor Dostoyevsky’s short novella revolving around loneliness, unrequited love,  and dreams still resonates with our society today.  The nameless narrator of White Nights, a lonely young man, meets Nastenka, a young woman with whom he forms a strong relationship,  yet  they  promise to  keep it friendly rather than romantic.
