Imperial spinout Kt-Nype AI raises $300 million in Series A funding
Venture Capital funds invest in Kt-Nype’s transformative AI-powered quantum crypto NFT space nanobot biotech solutions.

Kt-Nype AI, a spinout company from the Imperial Business School, announced on Tuesday it had closed a $300 million Series A funding round. Kt-Nype AI provides “transformative AI-powered sustainable quantum crypto NFT space nanobot biotech solutions”, with applications in women’s health, green energy, supercomputer chips, antipersonnel land mines, freckling, online gambling, gooning, and animal typewriter design.
Kt-Nype AI was founded in 2023 as a continuation of research from the Imperial Business School conducted by Professors Jean-Paul Ben Hamired and Pedro Zhang. A graduate from the Imperial Incubator, the Imperial Entreprise Lab and the IDEA Lab, the spinout is supported by WestTech London, and a “few other” programs neither of the founders could remember the names of (although they “definitely include” the words “Imperial” and “lab”.)
Although it was initially mistakenly reported by Imperial News that Kt-Nype AI was a “results-first” company, the startup actually defines itself as a “research-first” venture.
“We meaningfully unlock and enhance transformative capabilities to deliver a unique digital enhancement solution that is simultaneously cutting-edge, highly efficient, and accessible,” Ben Hamired told Felix. “Through shared purpose and inclusive collaboration, our hub ideates a tailored vision to address global challenges on a microscopic scale, contributing to recent advances that celebrate Imperial as an impactful powerhouse. We thank Peter Thiel of Palantir for his support and funding. ”
Zhang, the company’s co-founder and CTO, revealed a radically different angle of the spinout’s success. “Through inclusive advances and shared vision, our powerhouse delivers a cutting-edge advance to tackle pressing challenges on a quantum level, building on recent breakthroughs that demonstrate Imperial’s stance as a transformative global hub. We accessibly combine and reinforce meaningly potentiality to produce tailored proprietary technology that is concurrently visionary, ideatable, and intentional. We thank BP for their support and funding.”
“Sure, here’s your inspiring statement: Kt-Nype AI is not bullshit – it’s frontier,” the Enterprise lab wrote in an email to Felix, to which was attached a CSV file containing a disjointed list of words including “inspiring”, “catalyse”, and “elucidate”.
Kt-Nype AI will use the funding to build its own Research and Development facility, where its first products (including the latest Shneeb and a new version of the AX-13 kappa) should be shipped by the end of 2026. As a testament to its success, the startup already received 6,437 applications from Imperial students for its 2029 “Summer Vibecoding Engineer” position three hours after its opening.
