Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 team full-tuition scholarship returns to Imperial for second year
Mercedes Petronas Formula 1 Team has partnered with Imperial Department of Aeronautics to continue its scholarship programme, now entering its second year.
The initiative currently supports one scholarship place for a home student from an underrepresented background, who receives full coverage of their tuition and a living allowance.
Throughout their degree, scholars also have the opportunity to meet Mercedes team members from different disciplines and gain first-hand insights on innovations at their factory. Last year’s scholar also had the opportunity to attend the British Grand Prix.
The scholarship is part of the College and Mercedes’ wider goal of investing in future engineering talent, connecting students directly with industry opportunities to help bridge the gap between education and employment: “the future of Formula 1 depends on the talented people who will shape it,” Anca Raine, Chief People Officer at Mercedes, told Felix.
